SOMERSET, NJ – The 2nd annual CFO Innovation Awards were presented May 5, 2016 to 12 chief financial officers who have improved their companies through their innovative thinking and performance. The awards are for intangibles like mastery and leadership and innovation. Winners, selected from 45 finalists by a panel of independent judges, are spotlighted in the most recent issue of CFO Studio magazine. The Q3 issue was distributed to all who attended the CFO Innovation Conference at MetLife Stadium on May 5, and is being mailed this week to subscribers. The cover story features David Chambers, CFO of Jaguar Land Rover North America.

David Pearson, CFO of Vonage, took home the CFO Innovator Award; Mark Okerstrom, CFO and Executive Vice President, Expedia, received the CFO Mastery Award; Kevin Lenahan, CFO of Atlantic Health System, was the recipient of the CFO Leadership award; Craig Steeneck, CFO of Pinnacle Foods, received the CFO Success Award – Finance Department; Bill Baldwin, CFO of Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., took home the CFO Success Award – Operations; Talia Griep, CFO of Benjamin Moore, received the CFO Success Award – Technology; Mike Dentici, CFO, T&M Associates, was the recipient of the CFO Success Award – Strategy; Andrew Einhorn, CFO of Edge Therapeutics, Inc. took home the CFO Success Award – Capital; Michael Mardy, CFO of Tumi Holdings, received the CFO as COO Award; Arlen Shenkman, CFO of SAP North America, was the recipient of the CFO Industry Transformation Award; Bob Barry, CFO of the Community FoodBank of NJ received the Tax-exempt CFO Award – the For-profit Mind-set; and Jenniffer Collins, CFO, Teligent, took home the Small Market Companies CFO – Thinking Big Award.

CFO Studio’s audit partner, Withum+ reviewed all the entries to determine if the CFO nominee met the qualifications for the award. In the cover story, David Chambers, who has been CFO of Jaguar Land Rover, N.A. since it was created in 2008 when Ford Motor Co. sold the brands to Tata Motors of Mumbai, India. He was one of a handful of executives to move to Mahwah, NJ, in January 2009 and begin the start-up that is JLR. In his first months at Jaguar Land Rover, Chambers created organizations for treasury, tax, accounting, compliance, dealer audit, and purchasing. This was “a great learning experience,” he says in the article. “Rarely do you get to come into a large organization — large from a revenue perspective — and get to basically start everything over

again.”

CFOs will learn about Chambers’ part in setting the go-to-market strategy for the company and about his efforts to develop the respect of people outside the finance organization. Also in the issue is a brief case study of nearshoring at Agfa Graphics North America.
