SOMERSET, NJ – On February 26th, 2014, Jonathan Stearns, Managing Director of Stearns Associated Partners, LLC, a strategic consulting and transaction advisory firm, moderated a CFO Studio Executive Dinner Series meeting. The event was\ held at Capital Grille in Manhattan and was attended by some of the tri-state area’s top CFOs, finance executives and professionals. Attendees gathered around a table of steak and seafood to discuss the pressing topic of “Debt and Equity in the Middle Market: Uncertainty, Opportunity and Preparation.” The evening was hosted by Real Estate Strategies Corporation and sponsored by Lowenstein Sandler and Rothstein Kass.

The peer-to-peer exchange of ideas led to some lively debate. Some of the insights shared last night included: who should really be in charge of capital strategies – the board, the CEO or the CFO; the process of determining financial needs and timing; investment bankers vs. private equity; and whether or not too much cash is a good thing.

An article detailing this discussion will appear in the 2nd Quarter 2014 issue of CFO Studio magazine.

The next CFO Studio Executive Dinner Series meeting will be held tonight at Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange, NJ. The topic will be “CFO to CEO: The Next Natural CFO Progression” moderated by Irv Rothman, President and CEO of HP Financial Services. Tonight’s Executive Dinner Series meeting will be sponsored by Robert Half.  The following Executive Dinner Series meeting will be held on March 13th, 2014.
