SOMERSET, NJ – On November 11, 2014, Steve O’Connell, CFO of Lenox Corporation led a discussion about keeping employees at diverse organizations focused on culture, productivity and profits.

Some of the tri-state area’s top CFOs attended the CFO Studio Executive Dinner, which was held at Agricola in Princeton, NJ. Real Estate Strategies Corporation hosted the evening.

Dinner guests had a meaningful discussion about strategies for keeping large, diverse and global employee groups unified and productive. The participants spent a portion of the discussion focused on how the recession and the slow recovery added an added layer of complexity to motivating a workforce spread across geographic locations.

Some of the strategies discussed included creating a level of financial transparency with employees, clearly communicating the value of the product, establishing a relatable, common goal and purpose for the company, and building teams of employees from all levels – from administrative assistants to vice presidents – to create company cultural policy. The participants also discussed several ways to structure employee incentives that will help them to both appreciate and focus on operating profits, rather than just on the revenue.

An article detailing this discussion will appear in an up coming issue of CFO Studio and on CFOstudio.com.

Since the beginning of 2014, CFO Studio has hosted several Executive Dinner Series meetings moderated by such distinguished guests as Claude Draillard, VP Finance of Dassault Falcon Jet, Caroline Dorsa, EVP and CFO of PSEG; Irv Rothman, President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Financial Services; Jonathan Stearns, founder of Stearns Associated Partners; and Hugh C. Welsh, Esq., president and general counsel of DSM North America.

The next CFO Executive Dinner will be held on January 10, 2015. Kevin Lenahan, Chief Financial Officer of Atlantic Health System will lead a discussion on “CFOs, Inspiring Management and Employees to Benefit Under the ACA.” To request an invitation, please contact Lorenz.Capalad@CFOstudio.com or phone: 732-868-0000 x118.
