Glenn Sblendorio, President and CFO of The Medicines Company Lead Discussion on Effective Acquisition Strategies at CFO Studio Executive Dinner Series Meeting
SOMERSET, NJ – On April 29th, 2014, Glenn Sblendorio, president and CFO of The Medicines Company moderated, “Executing an Intelligent Acquisition Strategy,” a CFO Studio Executive Dinner Series meeting. The event, held at Blue Morel Restaurant and Wine Bar in Morristown, NJ, brought together finance executives to share insights and learn from each other’s experiences developing and executing acquisition strategies. The evening was hosted by Real Estate Strategies Corporation and sponsored by Rothstein Kass.
Sblendorio detailed how he and his team developed and refined The Medicines Company’s model of acquiring businesses. While the conversation covered target strategies and financing, the group also discussed what they agreed was the most difficult part of making an acquisition successful – the human component. The participants shared strategies for effective post-acquisition knowledge transfer and issues of meshing or separating company cultures.
An article detailing this discussion will appear in the 3rd Quarter 2014 issue of CFO Studio magazine.
