Howard Reba is a broadly experienced finance, accounting, and operations executive with recurring achievements in value creation and operational improvements at companies experiencing rapid change, both while in industry and as an adviser. His unique combination of large, small, public, privately-held, and private-equity experiences provide him with both the extensive business and deep financial skills to solve the strategic and tactical challenges facing the small and middle market today.
Howard is currently a Group Finance Director – Portfolio Operations at Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm with over $3 billion of capital under management that is focused on providing corporate parents, shareholders and other stakeholders with tailored solutions that meet their business and liquidity needs. In this Operating Partner role, he conducts due diligence, leads post-deal integration, performs ongoing portfolio management, and manages exit activities. His focus is on accelerating value creation at portfolio companies in the software and technology industries, specifically eMDS, Asentinel, BlueHornet Networks, and Anexinet.
While orchestrating his return to the private equity world, Howard worked as a Managing Director at Dorn Advisors advising clients on their strategic and operational challenges. He also served as the CFO of 2 early stage technology companies, Fidelus Technologies and External IT.
Previously, Howard served as CFO and led the successful exit for Summit Partners and the founder of Tradeware Global Corporation. Following the sale of the company to SS&C Technologies, he remained onboard to lead the integration and other strategic initiatives.
Howard’s senior level financial services experience also includes serving as the SVP Finance supporting the commercial businesses at CIT, where he built a world class FP&A organization. He joined CIT from IBM Business Consulting Services, which had acquired PwC Consulting. As a Managing Consultant, Howard executed finance operation improvement and strategy engagements for small domestic through global 50 clients.
Earlier in his career, Howard was the VP Finance and Controller at Research Partners, a regional broker dealer and investment banking firm. Howard began his career as an Associate at JP Morgan, and a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young.
Howard holds a M.B.A. in Finance and Management from New York University and a B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University. He is an active C.P.A. in New York and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
