Johnson & Johnson’s Dominic Caruso, CFO

To be Honored at CFO Studio Magazine Reception

SOMERSET, NJ – Dominic Caruso, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Johnson & Johnson, will be the guest of honor at a reception on September 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, NJ, where the global health care company is headquartered. Caruso is featured in the cover story of the Q4 2016 issue of CFO Studio magazine.

In the article, Caruso tells of his reliance on a set of principles written in 1943 when he makes decisions about ethical matters to this day. Caruso recalls one instance where he approved a “gut-wrenching” decision to withdraw a product from the market because tests showed that a competitor’s design was a safer choice for patients. The decision cost the company dearly but was the right way to act, Caruso says. In fact, it was made “easy” by the principles referred to as “Our Credo.”

Asked about the usefulness to his company of having such a moral compass, Caruso is quoted as saying, “What Our Credo does for us is to require us to always stop and think, reflect, not to be simply reactionary to current developments, but to be grounded in our decision-making.”

A highlight of the reception will be a brief talk by Caruso, who has been with J&J since 1999. He became CFO of J&J in 2007. At that time the stock price was around $50. Today it hovers around $120.

The reception will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, at the Heldrich Hotel, 10 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Attendance is limited. To request an invitation, please contact Lorenz.Capalad@CFOstudio.com or phone: 732-868-8000 x118.
